House Democratic leaders are presenting legislation that looks to boost the semiconductor chip industry. The Senate passed their own bill back in June, but Democrats in the House are going their own route with their proposal over six months later. The legislation would bolster investments in science research and development in the U.S. while also helping the country's industry compete with China while addressing the semiconductor chip shortage. The shortages have put a crunch on the automobile, computer and other electronics manufacturers as supply chain bottlenecks have put pressure on production.
