Officials with a mosque in Irving say they had an encounter a few weeks ago with the man who ended up taking hostages in a Colleyville synagogue. Malik Faisal Akram reportedly showed up at the Islamic Center of Irving one night early this month. A spokesman says he looked like an unstable homeless man, and asked if he could stay the night. When he was told no, Akram reportedly got angry and rude. The 44-year-old British national was killed last Saturday night, after holding four people hostage at Congregation Beth Israel for nearly 12-hours.
