The San Antonio City Council voted today in favor of a CPS Energy rate increase. The CPS Board of Trustees unanimously approved the 3.85% rate hike earlier this week. The rate increase has been anticipated for several months, and is lower than the double-digit percentage hike the utility originally asked for. CPS Energy estimates the average customer would see an increase to his monthly electric and gas bill of just over $5.
