Governor Greg Abbott is being endorsed by the union that represents employees of the Border Patrol. Abbott appeared in Edinburg yesterday to receive the blessing of the National Border Patrol Council. The group's president said that Abbott received their endorsement because of the governor's work to secure the border when the federal government refused to do so. The governor said he was happy to have the endorsement of those who are the "tip of the spear" when it comes to securing the border.
