Federal Government To Open Six Coronavirus Testing Sites In Texas

The federal government will open six coronavirus testing sites in Texas at the request of Gov. Greg Abbott. The governor and the Texas Department of State Health Services last week asked for federal help to deal with the growing number of infections due to the omicron surge. The testing locations will be in Bexar, Harris, Dallas, Tarrant, Cameron, and Hidalgo Counties, which state leaders say are among the hardest hit. No word yet as to when the sites will open, who will operate them, or what their daily capacity will be.
