City and county law enforcement agencies are gearing up to fight drunk driving as New Year's Eve approaches. They don't want to see an increase in the number alcohol-related accidents over last year. There were 172 DWI crashes in San Antonio, featuring four deaths and six injuries, during the 2020 holiday season. Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar says several units will be patrolling for drunk drivers over the New Year's holiday. The San Antonio Police Department's traffic unit also plans to put in some extra hours this week.
