The Christmas air travel peak is in progress at the San Antonio International Airport. Director of Airports Jesus Saenz says nearly 30,000 passengers are arriving or departing every day, as compared to the usual volume of up to to 25,000 travelers. Saenz says the numbers still haven't reached pre-pandemic levels, when the Christmas travel period would bring out closer to 35,000 passengers a day. Airport officials say they anticipate a return to pre-pandemic passenger volume in the year ahead.
