An ambitious plan for the future of San Antonio International Airport now has City Council approval. Council members voted unanimously on Thursday to approve the Strategic Development Plan, which is geared to handle expected growth and increased airport traffic in the area through 2040. It will involve unifying the terminals and adding a third one, along with more gates. The longest runway will be extended to accommodate longer international flights, and more parking will be added, among other upgrades.
