Suspect In Austin Synagogue Fire Faces Federal Charge

The teenager accused of setting a fire at an Austin synagogue is facing a federal arson charge. The FBI says a Jeep registered to 18-year-old Franklin Sechriest was seen in the parking lot of the Congregation Beth Israel shortly before the fire on October 31st, and agents found items used to make Molotov cocktails in his vehicle. Authorities say investigators also obtained a journal belonging to Sechriest where he admits to setting the fire. It is not yet known if Sechriest will be charged with a hate crime.
