City Council is considering a long-term development plan for the San Antonio International Airport. On Wednesday, director of airports Jesus Saenz Jr. presented the council with a new Strategic Development Plan to handle the city's expected growth through 2040. The plan calls for a new terminal, a longer runway, and more capacity for flights and passengers. The upgrades would be paid for with airport revenues, which city staff say won't affect the general city budget. The federal infrastructure bill is also expected to provide funds.
