Some travelers and shoppers from Mexico can resume making trips into South Texas today. International surface ports of entry at bridges and where ferries arrive will begin allowing non-essential travel into the U.S. for non U.S. citizens who hold an appropriate visa and who can show proof they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. U.S. Customs and Border Protection also announced Friday that international bridge hours will return to normal today to help facilitate any increased traffic. Non-essential cross-border travel has been restricted since last year due to the pandemic.
