Democrats are filing three more lawsuits against the state's recently adopted political redistricting maps. The Mexican American Legislative Caucus filed a state court lawsuit in Travis County on Tuesday, claiming the maps violate state constitutional rules about how counties can be divided up in redistricting. The caucus also filed a federal lawsuit in Austin claiming the maps are discriminatory. Democratic state Sen. Beverly Powell of Burleson and six Tarrant County voters also sued on Tuesday, claiming racial gerrymandering.
