Abortions Resume In Texas After Judge Blocks Heartbeat Law

Abortion providers are back in business in Texas. The procedure resumed in some areas of Texas on Thursday, the day after a court blocked enforcement of the state's ban on abortions after six-weeks of pregnancy. For just over a month, abortion providers threatened with lawsuits or fines had been turning away patients who wanted abortions after the unborn child's heartbeat could be detected. Texas women were starting to get abortions in other states. Late Wednesday, a federal judge in Austin declared the law unconstitutional.
