Governor Greg Abbott hosts a meeting with several Republican governors in the Rio Grande Valley today. Governors from as far away as Montana and Idaho will join Governor Abbott in Mission. The Texas Department of Public Safety and Texas National Guard will be represented at the meeting as well. The visit is meant to call attention to the immigrant surge at the southern border, which Governor Abbott blames on inaction by the Biden administration. This will be Governor Abbott's third visit to a Texas border town in just over two-weeks.
