The Rangers may be parting ways with top-dollar signing from last winter. Texas designated pitcher Kohei Arihara for assignment on Sunday, after he made 10 starts for the club this season. Arihara was 2-and-4 with a 6.64 earned run average, since signing a two-year, $6.2 million contract in December with the Rangers. The 29-year-old came over after six years in Japan's Pacific League and Texas had to pay a $1.2 million posting fee to sign the prospect. Should he clear waivers, Arihara could be assigned to the organization's minor leagues.
