The Astros had to scratch their starter from yesterday's game due to a hand injury. Left-hander Framber Valdez missed his start after cutting the index finger on his pitching hand on Wednesday. Valdez suffered the cut during batting practice when he put his hand on the outfield wall at Globe Life Field. The pitcher missed the first part of the season with a broken finger and sits 10-and-5 with a 3.26 earned run average this season.
