Permitless Carry Officially In Effect In Texas

Permitless carry is now in effect in Texas. The bill passed by the state legislature earlier this year allows Texans 21 and older to carry a handgun in public without a permit or training. Governor Abbott is a big supporter of the bill, saying it instills freedom in the Lone Star State. Opponents of the bill, including some law enforcement officers, have expressed concern that it will increase crime rates and put more people in danger.
