The San Antonio Water System is planning ahead to the next winter storm or other catastrophe. SAWS is working on a way to keep its pumps running during a lengthy power outage. The agency says it expects to spend hundreds of millions of dollars on electricity generators for its pumping stations. SAWS is considering diesel generators from Caterpillar, as well as natural gas generators from a Houston-based company called Enchanted Rock.
