Texas Governor Greg Abbott is praising the passage of an election bill. Abbott says Senate Bill One makes it "easier to vote and harder to cheat" and will increase trust in the electoral process. The Republican Abbott is planning to sign the bill because it bans drive-through and 24-hour voting and gives more protections to poll watchers. Democrats have complained it's voter suppression. House Democrats prevented two votes on SB 1 during the regular and first special session by walking off the House floor and later going to Washington, DC. They eventually returned earlier this month.
