The AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch says the statewide average gas price in Texas is $2.79 a gallon for regular unleaded. That price is down five-cents from a week ago and is 88-cents higher than a year ago. The national average is $3.14. Demand is up a bit and supplies are slightly down, but lower crude prices are helping keep gas prices down. The average price at the pump in San Antonio is $2.64.
