Austin Public Health says the return of students to the classroom is contributing to the rise in COVID cases. According to health authority Doctor Desmar Walkes, cases have increased by more than four-hundred over the past two weeks since classes restarted in Travis County. She said this to a joint meeting of the Travis County Commissioners and Austin City Council yesterday, adding that the health department is taking a "serious look" at the current guidelines for schools. Doctor Walkes warned that many more children will get sick with COVID if they aren't wearing masks.
