The president of the North East ISD board says she missed last week's mask mandate meeting because she tested positive for coronavirus. Shannon Grona made the announcement on Monday. She says she notified Superintendent Sean Maika that she'd be unable to attend the meeting, in which the board voted 5-to-1 to require masks on the district's campuses. Grona didn't take a position on the mandate, but she encouraged everybody who feels sick to get tested for the virus.
