The Cowboys are banking on Dak Prescott being ready for the team's regular season opener. The quarterback suffered a right shoulder strain in late July and is likely to miss the entirety of the team's preseason. Prescott has been making progress in his recovery as he aims to play Week One against the Buccaneers. The battle behind him in the depth chart has yet to be settled after uneven play at quarterback for Dallas this preseason. Garrett Gilbert, Cooper Rush and Ben DiNucci are all competing for the backup job.
