Texas school districts are now required to tell teachers, staff, and students' families of coronavirus cases in school. The Texas Education Agency announced the updated guidance on Thursday, saying that it applies to cases in classrooms and in extracurricular activities. TEA's previous guidance didn't specifically require school districts to alert parents about close contacts with the virus. School districts must still report all positive cases to the state and to local health departments.
