The Pentagon confirms Fort Bliss will provide housing to thousands of Afghan refugees. In a media briefing yesterday afternoon, Pentagon spokesperson John Kirby said preparations are underway at Fort Bliss and at Fort McCoy in Wisconsin. Kirby says the military is getting ready potentially to house "tens of thousands." He said, "Bliss and McCoy have capability right now" to receive several thousand. Kirby said Fort Lee in Virginia would be added so that between the three bases as many as 22-thousand Afghans can be housed there starting "three to four weeks from now."
