North East ISD "Recommends" Masks, Won't Mandate Until Final Court Ruling

North East ISD is hedging its bets while waiting for the Texas Supreme Court to weigh in again on the squabble over mask mandates. A judge is allowing Bexar County's mask mandate for public schools to remain in effect, but district officials believe a stay order from the state Supreme Court on Sunday night applies to the judge's order as well. Plus, the district says it expects an immediate appeal of the judge's order by Gov. Greg Abbott. For now, North East ISD is strongly encouraging its students to wear masks.
