A federal judge in Texas is directing the Biden administration to reinstate Trump's "Remain In Mexico" policy for asylum seekers. The judge ruled that Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas failed to consider the program's benefits, which he said included a deterrence effect the policy would have on migrants who didn't qualify for U.S. refugee status. The judge delayed the effect of the ruling by seven days to give the administration time to appeal.
