The Texas Supreme Court is giving the go-ahead for runaway Democrats to face civil arrest for fleeing the state Capitol to prevent a quorum. The high court on Thursday temporarily blocked orders from Harris County judges granting petitions for writs of habeas corpus filed on behalf most of the 40-plus Democrats who walked off the job. The writs allowed Democrats to avoid arrest while challenging the legality of the arrest warrants. Attorneys for the Democrats have until Monday to file a response before the court.
