A Texas sprinter is bringing home a silver medal from the Tokyo Olympics. Fred Kerley of Taylor finished second in the men's 100-meter final at the summer games. Kerley ran a personal best time of nine-point-84-seconds in the final finishing behind Lamont Marcell Jacobs of Italy. The Texas native will get a shot at another medal in the four-by-100 relay later in the games. Jacobs also has a Texas-tie, as he was born in El Paso. Jacobs is the son of an American father and an Italian mother and moved to Italy as a young boy when the U.S. military transferred his dad to South Korea.
