Texas' Simone Manuel Wins Bronze In Olympic Swim Event

A Sugar Land swimmer is a bronze medal winner at the Tokyo Olympics. Fort Bend Austin High School graduate Simone Manuel won the bronze while anchoring the 4X100 freestyle relay. The event took place Saturday night in America, but on Sunday morning in Tokyo. Australia won the gold, and Canada took the silver. Team USA Swimming in Tokyo won one gold, two silvers, and three bronze medals on Saturday night. Manuel won two golds and two silvers in the 2016 Olympics. She will also compete in the 50-meter freestyle in Tokyo.
