The Big 12 Conference says they are cracking down on taunting, especially one sign aimed at Texas Longhorn players. Big 12 coordinator of officials Greg Burks says a point of emphasis for the league this year will be made on cracking down on taunting, especially the "Horns Down" symbol. Burks says "Lemme put it this way, if you do a "Horns Down" to a Texas player as an opponent, that's probably going to be a foul." But if a player turns to the crowd and throws the sign, it probably will not be a penalty." Burks added, "We have to consider intent and consider the situation. We'll leave it to the officials."
