State officials now say the death toll in Texas from the February winter storm is 210. The Department of State Health Services added 59 deaths to the count in an update released Tuesday. Harris County had the most officially recorded deaths at 43, followed by Travis County at 28, then Dallas County at 20. Also in North Texas, Tarrant County reported nine deaths. Most of the statewide deaths were caused by hypothermia, but others resulted from carbon monoxide poisoning, traffic accidents on icy roads, fires, falls, and other causes.
