Gov. Abbott Says Texas Democrats Who Left Special Session Could Be Arrested

Governor Greg Abbott is threatening arrest for House Democrats who left Texas yesterday in another attempt to keep the state legislature from passing new voting restrictions. Abbott says the Speaker of the House could call for the lawmakers that departed the Lone Star State for Washington D.C. to be taken into custody once they return. The governor added that he could call as many special sessions as he needs to in order to pass election reform, along with the other items on the docket. After landing in the nation's capitol, the group of Democratic representatives said they won't go back to Texas until after the current special session ends on August Sixth.
