A new proton therapy cancer treatment center is planned for UT Health San Antonio. Proton therapy is a radiation treatment that attacks cancerous tumors without damaging adjacent healthy tissue. The new 65-million-dollar facility will break ground this summer on Floyd Curl Drive in the medical center. Completion is scheduled within two-years. It will be one of only 40 proton therapy centers in the nation. Two others in Texas are in Houston and Dallas.
