Bexar County deputies will patrol the River Walk starting this weekend to keep homeless people from bothering local businesses. There have been complaints of homeless people bathing in the San Antonio River, as well as sleeping and panhandling in front of businesses along the River Walk. San Antonio Park Police usually patrol the popular tourist destination. But the Sheriff's Office announced on Thursday that Sheriff Javier Salazar had met with downtown business leaders who asked for a more visible presence in the area.
