A new state law allowing Texans to carry guns without a permit could result in the dismissal of outstanding weapons cases. Gov. Greg Abbott signed the constitutional carry bill, which takes effect on September 1st. Dallas County District Attorney John Creuzot says it may allow some people arrested for unlawfully carrying a weapon to have those charges dropped. Creuzot says the new law may also allow people already found guilty of weapons charges to have those convictions overturned.
