Police are investigating a shootout that happened early Monday outside a Northwest Side night club. Security guards at the Burnhouse called police at 2:30 a.m. and said they'd had an exchange of gunfire with some people in a car in the club's parking lot on Loop 1604 near Lockhill-Selma. After the gun battle, the car sped out of the parking lot, entered the highway the wrong direction, and ran into another car. The car then headed off in the right direction toward I-10. When police caught up to the car, a man inside it had been shot. He was hospitalized in critical condition. Two other people in the car were detained.
