Texas congressional Democrats are hoping the Biden administration will help stop Governor Greg Abbott from building a border wall. The 13 Congress members sent a letter to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, saying Abbott could use federal coronavirus relief funds to fill-in any budget gaps used for wall construction. They want Yellen to make sure the Republican Abbott can't do that, saying the state has a revenue surplus. Texas is getting almost 16-billion from the federal government from the most recent COVID relief plan. Abbott has directed $250 million from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice as a down payment for the barrier.
