Not everyone was greeting Vice President Kamala Harris with open arms when she arrived in El Paso today. Some supporters of former President Trump waved flags and held up signs along the side of the street. One flag said, "Pro America, Anti Biden," while some of the signs said, "Kamala you know Trump won."
It was Harris' first trip to the border since being named "border czar" three months ago. Many Republicans have said she should have visited the Rio Grande Valley instead of El Paso if she really wanted to understand the issues along the border.
"The important aspect of this visit is leading this visit after the work we did in Guatemala and Mexico," said Harris.
Harris says she's more focused on results and dealing with what's causing the increase of migrants crossing the border. "Being in Guatemala, being in Mexico and talking with Mexico as a partner frankly on the issue was about addressing the causes," said Harris.
