The Electric Reliability Council of Texas says the state's power grid is stable, but still wants Texans to conserve energy through today. An ERCOT spokeswoman says it looks like the conservation appeal will end later today, as scheduled. ERCOT called for a cutback on electricity usage on Monday, after unscheduled repairs shut down more than the usual number of power plants just as rising temperatures were driving power demand upward. More of the offline plants are being repaired and returned to service.
