ERCOT: Grid Is Stable, Conservation In Afternoon Still Needed

The manager of the Texas power system is promising the grid itself is stable. The Electric Reliability Council of Texas says there's record demand for energy, but the grid is working as it should. Interim President Brad Jones wants customers to keep practicing energy conservation between 3 and 7 p.m. for the rest of the week. ERCOT says several power generators are out due to unplanned maintenance, although it's not known what caused the swath of problems.
