A construction worker is in the hospital after the San Antonio Fire Department rescued him from a trench on Wednesday morning. Fire crews responded to a roadwork site on Westlyn Drive in a West Side neighborhood. An employee in his late 20s reportedly fell into a deep trench and couldn't get out. It took SAFD crews about half an hour to free him. The man suffered an injury to his lower leg, and an ambulance took him to a hospital.
