Texas Man Executed For 1999 Murder Of Great-Aunt

A convicted killer from Fort Worth is the first inmate to be executed in Texas since last year. The state executed 41-year-old Quintin Jones on Wednesday evening for the 1999 murder of his great-aunt. Jones was 19-years-old when he beat 83-year-old Berthena Bryant to death with a baseball bat in order to steal 30-dollars so he could buy drugs. He received the lethal injection at the Texas State Penitentiary at Huntsville. It was the first execution in Texas, and the nation, since July 2020.
