The Astros' season-best six-game winning streak is over after a 6-5 loss to the Athletics in Oakland. The A's lofted a game-ending sacrifice fly in the ninth inning to edge past the Astros. Yordan Alvarez hit a two-run double in the first to take the lead while Cristian Javier struck out nine in six innings and allowed three runs. Kyle Tucker homered in the fourth and Jose Altuve went 2-for-5 to extend his hitting streak to 12 games, his first string of 12 or more games since a career-best 19-game hitting streak in 2017. The Astros look to bounce back as the series continues tonight.
