The Mavericks are shifting their sights to the playoffs after dropping the regular season finale 136-121 to the Timberwolves. Dallas finishes the regular season fifth in the Western Conference for the franchise's highest seeding since 2011. Luka Doncic had 18 points in 21 minutes for the Mavericks. The Mavs will face the number-four seed Clippers in the first round of the playoffs next weekend for a rematch of an intense series last year in the Florida bubble in which the Clippers won in six games. Dallas broke its three-way tie with Portland and the Lakers due to clinching the Southwest Division title and avoided the play-in tournament owner Mark Cuban recently spoke out against.
