Chip Roy Nominated For House Conference Chair

Texas Congressman Chip Roy will run for House GOP Conference Chair. Roy was nominated to the position by Colorado Congressman Ken Buck. New York Congresswoman Elise Stefanik is also running for the job and has the support of former President Trump and GOP House leadership. Trump thinks Roy "has not done a great job" and suggested he be "primaried" next year. Roy has gotten the endorsement of the advocacy group FreedomWorks, which praised him for his conservative record. The House GOP removed Wyoming Congresswoman Liz Cheney as conference chair earlier this week.
