Austin voters are defying city leaders by choosing to reinstate the city's ban on camping in public spaces, which the city council rescinded in 2019. Final results on Saturday night showed the vote on Proposition B was 58-percent in favor, and 42-percent against. So far the vote count is unofficial until a canvassing of the results, scheduled for May 11th. Once the ban becomes official, it'll likely mean the end of Austin's burgeoning homeless encampments.
