San Antonio and Bexar County officials are responding to the guilty verdict of Derek Chauvin. A jury on Tuesday convicted the former Minneapolis police officer of murder and manslaughter for the death of 46-year-old George Floyd last year. San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg and Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar both say "justice has been served" by the verdict. Bexar County District Attorney Joe Gonzales says the verdict is a moment to build on. Congressman Joaquin Castro says Chauvin "got the verdict he deserved," and Congressman Lloyd Doggett called the verdict a "historic step toward justice."
