The Stars got a vital extra point in a 3-2 shootout win over the Red Wings in Dallas. Denis Gurianov scored in the fifth round of the shootout to give the defending Western Conference champions the win. Roope Hintz and rookie Jason Robertson each scored in regulation for the Stars. Anton Khudobin stopped 20 shots plus four-of-five shootout attempts in the victory. The win moves the Stars to fifth place in the Central Division with 48 points, one ahead of Chicago, with only 12 regular-season games left. The two face off again tonight.
