City Council OKs Revised Alamo Plaza Redesign Plan

The revised Alamo Plaza plan now has the approval of the San Antonio City Council. The council also approved a revised lease and operating agreement with the Texas General Land Office on Thursday. The Alamo Plan still calls for a museum and visitors center, restoration of historic buildings, and the closure of nearby streets. But the Cenotaph won't be moved, no rails will block pedestrian access, and parades like the Battle of Flowers will still be able to pass through the plaza. A stretch of Alamo Street will be shut down by June 1st.
